Comic Relief reveals 40th Birthday Red Noses with support of Meanwhile.
Meanwhile have helped design the official 40th anniversary Red Noses for Comic Relief, along with the packaging and associated merchandising for 2025.
The Noses have a distinctly retro theme, throwing back to the classics from the charity’s back catalogue, like the 1991 Nose which was the first to have arms, to the best of the 80s, 00s, and 10s too. Two brand-new Noses, including the Cupcake Nose and Rare Ruby Nose, complete this year’s line-up. Customers have a 1 in 125 chance of unboxing one of these very special Rare Ruby Noses whenever they purchase a Nose.
The agency have seen their remit grow since starting the project from conceptualising the theme of this year’s Noses range and designing the new Cupcake Nose, to the general merchandising creation in collaboration with Amazon, who will act as official retailers once again for the charity.
CCO and founder of Meanwhile, James Cross commented, “The charity has been part of our lives, making a tangible difference, for such a long time, so to revisit and evolve the Noses is a wonderful mix of nostalgia, pride and excitement. The project is an unreal opportunity for Meanwhile to create a true piece of popular culture and design. We’re so very grateful to everyone at Comic Relief for placing their trust in us again this year, and we’ve collectively had real fun working together too.”
Jane Lamb, Director of Partnerships at Comic Relief, said: “Over the years our iconic Red Noses have transformed into all kinds of shapes and sizes that have helped capture the imagination of the nation in so many wonderful and creative ways. To celebrate Comic Relief’s 40th birthday it felt fitting to bring back some of our iconic Red Noses, alongside two brand-new designs — the Cupcake and Rare Ruby Noses. It has been a real pleasure working together with Meanwhile once again this year to help bring these designs to life. You can order your Nose from Amazon now, so don’t miss out!”
Comic Relief has been using the power of solidarity and silliness since 1985 to help tackle some of the most urgent problems faced by people here in the UK and across the world. Red Nose Day returns on Friday 21 March. Money raised could help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict, here in the UK and around the world.

About Red Nose Day
Red Nose Day is back on Friday 21 March 2025.
From hip shakers, cake bakers and joke makers to Red Nose wearers, t-shirt buyers and sofa-sitting givers, it’s that time of year to come together to support people in the UK and across the world who are facing the toughest times of their lives.
This Red Nose Day, there’s lots to be excited about as we begin to celebrate Comic Relief hitting the big 4–0 in 2025. With your help over the past 40 years, we’ve raised over £1.6 billion, supported over 100 million people, and had a great time doing it. So, this March, let’s all go big to help put food on plates, roofs over heads, keep little ones safe, and support families affected by conflict. Because when we all do a little something funny for money, giving gets bigger and bigger.
There are lots of ways to take part in Red Nose Day.
