Meanwhile created the Red Noses to be the first to actually tell you jokes via the Comic Relief Joke Generator. There are five characters to find, including the super-rare Golden Hooter, which is plated in 24-carat gold leaf. And the fun continues with a selection of associated merchandise for 2024, which has also been created by the agency in collaboration with Manchester design studio The Office Of Craig.

CCO and founder of Meanwhile, Tim Jones commented, “We’re incredibly excited to reveal the work we’ve done with the team for this campaign. The project is, of course, incredibly humbling and an unreal opportunity to create a true piece of popular culture for a charity that makes such a huge difference to so many lives. And, it was a thrill to develop the first ever Red Noses that are not only fun to wear but can actually make you laugh too.”

Al Marchant, CEO and founder of Meanwhile added, “We’re so grateful to everyone at Comic Relief for placing their trust in us, and we’ve collectively had real fun working together so far. We hope that the Noses will both surprise and delight not just the wearer, but those around them too.”

Jane Lamb, Director of Partnerships at Comic Relief said, “The little Red Nose that makes a huge difference will always be at the heart of our Red Nose Day campaigns and we love bringing out brand new designs every year for our supporters to enjoy. It’s always an exciting project to reimagine and it’s been a fantastic

experience working with Meanwhile for the first time — we are absolutely delighted with the new collection.”

Comic Relief was founded in 1985 by Richard Curtis and Sir Lenny Henry, as an opportunity to fundraise through comedy, with the first Red Nose Day taking place in 1988. The campaign has since become a yearly occurrence, and Red Nose Day 2024 will take place on 15th March. Money raised this Red Nose Day could help tackle poverty, provide food, essential healthcare or safe shelter for people in the UK and around the world.

The merchandising products and the Red Nose itself are available now at amazon.co.uk

About Comic Relief

Comic Relief uses the power of humour and popular culture to engage people to help others and raises money to support organisations working towards a just world free from poverty.

Our mission combines Comic and Relief. We believe that helping others can be easy and fun, even in the face of the challenges we face every day.

Everyone should be able to have a decent standard of living and to live life with dignity and respect — but right now, in the UK and around the world, poverty and injustice restrict too many of us. We know that a better world is possible. We provide funding to fantastic organisations who are closest to the communities who can make change happen. We support work that will help to alleviate poverty’s consequences, tackle related injustices, and address the link between climate change and poverty.
