Chester Zoo promise Endless Adventures in their Summer 2024 campaign by Meanwhile.
Chester Zoo has drawn upon inspiration from their visitors’ camera rolls to demonstrate just how fun, full and memorable a visit to the UK’s most popular zoo can be for all different types of people.
“Endless Adventures”, created by Meanwhile, launches today (14th June) with a set of films directed by Phoebe Arnstein and produced by Magna Studios. The lo-fi 30 second pieces tell the stories of a day at the zoo captured on a family’s phone, and another tells the story of a couple through their own film and photos who are at the zoo on a date.
The campaign extends into out of home too, with a series of innovative D6 executions to depict the idea as if the viewer is looking at someone’s personal camera roll on their phone. We see the vast array of animal species at the zoo, along with more personal, and emotive, insights of people’s unique experiences.
Michael Tsim, creative director at Meanwhile said; “Obsessed with bats? Insta-worthy forests? Or looking for somewhere the whole family can have fun? Chester Zoo’s got it all. With this work we’re changing perceptions of the zoo for visitors by shining a light on the endless rich, varied and personal experiences you can have compared to other attractions. This fresh campaign will do important work to drive visitor numbers, which ultimately enables the zoo to continue with the incredible conservation work that each visit makes possible.”
Helen Dean, head of marketing at Chester Zoo added; “Meanwhile have created a beautiful and inspiring campaign that allows us to present unique wildlife experiences around discovery, wonder and connection for a whole range of people from a child’s first giraffe sighting to a couple’s date day, to a multi-generational family reunion. ‘One zoo, endless adventures’ has allowed us to look at our zoo from all these different visitor perspectives, providing diversity, relevance and connection — ultimately showcasing that Chester Zoo is a place for everyone.”
The campaign will be rolled out across TV, out of home, digital and in social media. Post-production was handled by Assembly Rooms and ELMNTL, and the original score was written by composer Alex Baranowski. Media is being handled by Notorious Communications.
